Transitioning from Neuroscience to Woodworking
Hi, I’m Tig. After spending over 30 years in Neuroscience, exploring the complexities of brain function, I sought a more tangible and creative outlet. I began crafting small jewelry boxes from highly figured hardwoods for family and friends, finding joy in the immediate, hands-on results.
When I retired early (a decision I underestimated), I quickly ran through my to-do list and, like many, found myself with extra time during the pandemic. This led me back to woodworking, where I started combining hardwoods with epoxy resin to create vibrant river tables, charcuterie boards, and other mixed-media designs.
What started as a personal hobby grew into something more when friends encouraged me to sell my work at arts festivals around Atlanta. Today, I create a variety of customizable items, from chessboards and wall clocks to charcuterie boards and river tables. In each product section below, you’ll find examples of pre-made pieces that are available to purchase, as well as inspiration for fully custom designs.
