What Can I Do For You?

Hardwood Boxes

I generally make small jewelry boxes but have recently made a 10 x 8 in mahogany humidor for a friend.  Boxes can be inlaid with wood or epoxy resin. Or, as illustrated, I can add a custom brass insert.

3D Modelling

I can 3D carve just about any image that I can get in an STL or V3M file format. There is obviously a limit on the detail that can be reproduced for a given size of wood. However, I will try to offer feedback before accepting an order.

Inlay

Like 3D carving I can carve any 2D inlay that I can get in an SVG file format.  Examples are  shown in the 2D cutting page but there are plenty of online sites that offer copyright free images for download. 2D and 3D cutting can be mixed to make custom designs and signage.

Photoetching / Engraving

Photoetching or engraving of brass is a bit time consuming but not impossible. At present I don’t have the technical ability to do really fine detail  Surnames or initials should be relatively straight forwards (see box inlay).

Kids Toys

This is just something that’s fun to do.  I don’t have a lot of choices to offer but I can carve just about any dinosaur you like 🙂

River Boards

I generally make the epoxy river boards prior to ordering but if I have an order that specifies wood/epoxy color i will try and custom make a board. Boards can also be further customized by adding a name or initial inlays.

Drinks Coasters

I usually make the coasters individually as and when any epoxy is left over from river board builds. They can be purchased individually or as sets of 5 with a holder.

Clockfaces / Table Tops

Clock faces or table tops at present come in 2 sizes, 18 in and 15in diameter.  At present these are made of pine with epoxy inlays but I am working on a circular equivalent of the epoxy river boards.

Signage

I don’t have much to show here as making a random sign for no one in particular seems a bit pointless.  That said i can incorporated 2/3D carving and inlays, as well as the PhotoVCarve to make some really attractive signage.

PhotoVCarve

PhotoVCarve is a process whereby a high resolution image can be reproduced in wood using the depth of cut to determine the contrast. At present I have used this on pine and then stained the wood for the final effect.  Really complex images will be impossible to faithfully reproduce but, as shown, some of the finer detail is not lost.
